Live photo share: one event album that fills as guests shoot

Guests scan a code, take photos on their own phones, and the host gets every shot in one place instead of chasing them afterwards.

Every event ends the same way. The best candids are scattered across a dozen phones, and the host spends the next week asking in the group chat who has the good ones. Half the photos never show up.

Live photo share fixes that at the source. Guests shoot on their own phones, and every photo goes into one shared event album. The host does not chase anyone, and nobody has to ask for photos afterwards. If you are new to the idea, see how free event photo sharing works with sync.camera.

How live photo share works

The host creates an event, names it and picks an end time. That is the whole setup. The event gets a QR code and an eight-character invite to hand out.

Guests join from the QR code or the invite. No account is required, so there is nothing to sign up for before the first photo. Print the code on a table card, or send the invite to the group.

Guests can join from any modern phone browser via the invite link. Installing the iOS or Android app is optional. The app adds better camera controls and push notifications for new photos, but nobody needs it to take part. For more on joining, see QR code invites.

Photos from every guest collect in one shared event album. The host sees everything in one place, with no photo-chasing afterwards. The guest upload page covers the guest side in more detail.

Choose when guests see the photos

The host decides when the album opens to guests. There are three reveal modes, and you pick the one that fits the occasion.

During: guests see photos live as they are taken. After the event: the gallery unlocks when the event ends. Additional delay: the gallery unlocks a set number of hours after the event ends.

Live suits a trip, where everyone wants to see the shots as they happen. Delayed suits a surprise, where the photos should stay hidden until the host is ready. Read more on reveal modes.

One album, split into moments

A long event has stages. Moments split an event into parts such as the ceremony, the reception and the after-party. Each moment has its own QR code and its own reveal timing.

Guests move between moments without switching apps, so the whole day still ends up in one event album.

Once the photos are in, the host can export favorites. The album can also be narrowed to one contributor's shots, which helps when you want to see what one guest captured.

Frequently asked questions

Do guests need a sync.camera account?

No. Guests join from a QR code or an eight-character invite, and no account is required. They can use any modern phone browser via the invite link, and installing the iOS or Android app is optional.

Can guests see photos while the event is happening?

Yes, if the host picks the During reveal mode. The host can instead unlock the gallery when the event ends, or a set number of hours after it ends.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. It is free to start, with up to 7 guest uploaders per event. SYNC PRO is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, that expands the guest and photo limits for a single event, so you upgrade again only when you create a larger event.

Does sync.camera sell my photos?

No. We don't sell your photos or your data. No ads. No cross-app tracking. Photos are encrypted in transit and stored in event-scoped buckets, with access enforced by per-event row-level security. sync.camera does use product analytics and a crash reporter.

What happens to my photos if I delete my account?

Deleting an account removes the profile, the events it owns and their photos within 30 days.
