QR code photo gallery: one scan puts every guest in the album

Guests join from a QR code or an eight-character invite, no account required, so the photos end up in one place instead of forty camera rolls.

After a good event, the photos are everywhere. A few sit in your camera roll, a dozen more are in someone's group chat, and the best candids are on a phone belonging to a guest you will never remember to text. Collecting them is a chore that usually never gets finished.

A QR code photo gallery fixes this at the source. You create one event, guests scan one code, and everything they shoot goes into the same shared album. Nobody has to make an account first, and nobody has to chase anyone afterwards. If you want the wider picture of how events and guest uploads fit together, see guest upload.

How the QR code photo gallery works

It starts with the host. You create an event in sync.camera, give it a name and pick an end time. That is all the setup there is.

sync.camera then generates a QR code and an eight-character invite for that event. Put the QR code wherever guests will see it, or send the invite to people who are not in the room.

Guests scan the code or type in the invite. No account is required. Once they are in, the photos they take land in the event's shared gallery, so you end up with one album instead of a pile of separate camera rolls.

What guests do after they scan

Guests can join from any modern phone browser through the invite link. There is nothing to download before they can start taking photos.

Installing the iOS or Android app is optional. It adds better camera controls and push notifications for new photos, which is handy for guests who want to keep up with the album, but it is never a requirement for joining.

The join screen pairs the event cover with a scannable QR card, so guests can see which event they are about to join before they add a single photo.

Decide when the gallery opens

You choose when guests get to see the photos, using one of three reveal modes. During the event, guests see photos live as they are taken. After the event, the gallery unlocks when the event ends. With an additional delay, it unlocks a set number of hours after the event ends.

Until it opens, a locked gallery shows blurred photos and a countdown banner, so guests know the pictures are there and when they will be able to see them. Hosts who want the full picture on how this works can read more about reveal modes.

One gallery, split into moments

Moments split an event into stages, such as ceremony, reception and after-party. Each moment has its own QR code and its own reveal timing, so you can keep the evening's photos locked while the afternoon's are already open.

Guests move between moments without switching apps. They keep shooting in the same place, and the photos stay organised by stage.

Afterwards, you can filter the album by photographer to narrow it to one contributor's shots, and export your favorites to keep the ones you want. For a look at how the album stays limited to the people you invited, see private event albums.

Who it is for

Couples

Put the QR code on table cards so every guest's candids end up in one wedding gallery, with the reveal set to when the event ends.

Birthday hosts

Hold up the invite pass at the party so everyone joins in seconds, then see who took which shot with filter by photographer.

Corporate organisers

Share one QR code at an offsite and split the day into moments like keynote, workshops and dinner, each with its own reveal timing.

Travel groups

Everyone scans once, and the trip's photos build a single album instead of living in separate camera rolls.

Frequently asked questions

Do guests need an account to use the QR code?

No. Guests join from a QR code or an eight-character invite with no account required. They can use any modern phone browser through the invite link, and installing the iOS or Android app is optional.

Is a QR code photo gallery free?

It is free to start, with up to 7 guest uploaders per event. When you need more room, SYNC PRO is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, that expands the guest and photo limits for a single event, and you upgrade again only when you create a larger event.

Can I hide the photos until the event is over?

Yes. Reveal modes let photos show during the event, unlock when the event ends, or unlock a set number of hours after it ends. Until then, a locked gallery shows blurred photos and a countdown banner.

Can I use different QR codes for different parts of an event?

Yes, with Moments. Each stage, such as the ceremony or the reception, gets its own QR code and its own reveal timing, and guests move between them without switching apps.

Who can see the photos in the gallery?

Photos are encrypted in transit and stored in event-scoped buckets, with access enforced by per-event row-level security. sync.camera doesn't sell your photos or your data, shows no ads and does no cross-app tracking. It does use product analytics and a crash reporter.

What happens to the photos if I delete my account?

Deleting an account removes your profile, the events it owns and their photos within 30 days.
