GuestCam and GuestPix are both apps for collecting photos from the guests at an event. If you are choosing between them, the useful question is less "which one wins" and more "which one matches how my event actually runs." We have not verified the details of either app, so this page does not make claims about what they do or don't offer. Their own sites and policies are the source of truth for that.
What we can do is tell you precisely how sync.camera behaves, and use that as a yardstick. The comparison angle here is three questions: how guests join, when photos are revealed, and what happens to the photos afterwards. Each one is a place where event photo apps differ in ways that matter on the day.
The wedge dimension is joining. Guests who have to create an account or hunt for an app store link tend to skip the step entirely. sync.camera lets guests join from a QR code or an eight-character invite, with no account required. Below is a checklist you can run against GuestCam and GuestPix, with sync.camera's side filled in. For a wider look at the category, see our roundup of event photo sharing apps, or the related Kululu vs GuestPix comparison.

How guests join
Joining is the first thing every guest does, so it is the first thing to test. On sync.camera, hosts create an event, name it and pick an end time. Guests then join from a QR code or an eight-character invite. No account is required.
Guests can also join from any modern phone browser via the invite link. Installing the iOS or Android app is optional; it adds better camera controls and push notifications for new photos, but nobody has to install it to take part.
For GuestCam and GuestPix, we make no claim either way. Open each app's own site and walk through the guest flow as if you were a guest: does it ask for an account, an email address, or an app install before the first photo? Try it on a phone that has never seen the app. The answer for your crowd, including older relatives and people who will not install anything, is what should decide this dimension.

Reveal timing and moments
When guests see photos changes the feel of an event. sync.camera has three reveal modes. During: guests see photos live as they are taken. After the event: the gallery unlocks when the event ends. Additional delay: the gallery unlocks a set number of hours after the event ends, which gives the hosts a head start before everyone else sees the album.
Sync.camera also has moments, which split one event into stages such as a ceremony, a reception and an after-party. Each moment has its own QR code and its own reveal timing, and guests move between them without switching apps.
We do not know which reveal options GuestCam or GuestPix offer, or whether either can split an event into stages, so we say nothing about them here. Check each app's current feature list for reveal options, and ask whether you can set different timing for different parts of the day. If you only need one gallery that opens when the party is over, you may not need more than that.
The details of each mode are on the reveal modes page.
Privacy and pricing model
On pricing, sync.camera is free to start and you upgrade per event. The free tier supports up to 7 guest uploaders per event. SYNC PRO is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, that expands the guest and photo limits for a single event, and you upgrade again only when you create a larger event. We do not quote SYNC PRO prices on this page.
On privacy, the sync.camera policy says: we don't sell your photos or your data, there are no ads, and there is no cross-app tracking. Photos are encrypted in transit and stored in event-scoped buckets, with access enforced by per-event row-level security. To be precise rather than sweeping: sync.camera does use product analytics and a third-party crash reporter, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android push. Deleting an account removes the profile, the events it owns and their photos within 30 days.
For GuestCam and GuestPix, we make no claim about pricing or privacy. Check each app's free limits, whether you pay per event or by subscription, and read its privacy policy for ads, tracking, and what happens to photos after the event. See privacy controls for how sync.camera handles this.
Verdict
We cannot tell you whether GuestCam or GuestPix is the better of the two, and we have not tried to pick a winner between them. Use the checklist above on each app's own site and decide on the answers.
Pick sync.camera if you want guests to join by QR code or invite with no account, you want to choose when photos are revealed, and you would like to pay once per event rather than subscribe. If GuestCam or GuestPix already meets those needs for your event, it may be the right choice, so check its current terms and features before you decide.
