You are hosting a wedding or a big celebration, and you want a guest book that captures how the day actually felt. A paper book gets a few lines of ink. You want the candid shots from the dance floor, the photos taken at each table, and the moments your photographer never saw. You also want it to be simple for guests of every age and every phone, and you want the photos to stay with your people.
What is hard right now
- I bought a paper guest book and half the guests skipped it. The ones who signed wrote 'congrats!' and moved on.
- I told everyone to send me their photos later. Weeks on, I'm chasing people over text and the best shots are still on their phones.
- My guests are on iPhone and Android, and some won't install another app or make an account just to share a picture.
- I don't want our wedding photos on a platform that sells data or shows ads next to them.
- I want to see the photos, but I don't want guests posting mid-ceremony and pulling everyone out of the moment.
Scenarios
The reception table QR code
Picture the spot where the paper guest book used to sit. Now each table has a card with a QR code on it. Aunt Sarah is on Android and her cousin is on iPhone. Both scan the code, join from the phone browser with no account, and start adding their photos. If someone would rather type than scan, guests can also join with an eight-character invite.
This is how a guest book turns into a photo guest book: instead of a line of ink, you get the shot of the table mid-laugh. Our digital wedding guestbook gives you a photo-based guest book that guests add to from their own phones, and QR code invites mean no guest is turned away by a sign-up screen.
Free to start. Upgrade per event. The free tier covers up to 7 guest uploaders per event. If your wedding is bigger, SYNC PRO is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, that expands the guest and photo limits for a single event. Upgrade again only when you create a larger event.
Ceremony, reception and after-party
You can split the day into Moments, such as the ceremony, the reception and the after-party. Each Moment has its own QR code and its own reveal timing, so you decide how each part of the day behaves.
Guests move between Moments without switching apps. The ceremony stays phone-light, because you control when photos appear, and the after-party fills with candid shots from the dance floor.
Seeing the album on your own schedule
You pick a reveal mode that fits how you want to experience the day. During means guests see photos live as they are taken. After the event means the gallery unlocks when the event ends. Additional delay unlocks it a set number of hours after the event ends. Choosing After the event means your first look at the guest photos waits until the party is over, so nobody is posting mid-ceremony or pulling everyone out of the moment. See reveal modes for how each one works.
When the album opens, you can filter by photographer to find one guest's shots, and export your favorites. Looking for more ways to get beyond signatures? Our guide to wedding guest book photo book ideas has plenty, and the guide to collecting wedding photos from guests without the chaos covers the rest.
Guests who never install anything
A grandparent without the app scans the QR code and joins from a modern phone browser via the invite link. No account required. There is nothing to download, and nothing for you to explain at the table.
Guests who want better camera controls and push notifications for new photos can install the iOS or Android app, but it is optional. Everyone else gets the same chance to add their photos.
Your album is private. We don't sell your photos or your data. No ads. No cross-app tracking. Photos are encrypted in transit, stored in event-scoped buckets, and access is enforced by per-event row-level security. Read more about private event albums.
Features that make this work
Digital wedding guestbook
A photo-based guest book your guests add to from their own phones, in place of a paper book that sits on a table and gets skipped.
QR code invites
Guests join from a QR code or an eight-character invite with no account required, so no guest is turned away by sign-up.
Reveal modes
Choose During, After the event, or Additional delay, so guests stay in the moment and you decide when the album opens.
Private event albums
Photos are encrypted in transit, stored in event-scoped buckets, and protected by per-event row-level security, so the wedding album stays with the people who were there.
