You are organizing a memorial or celebration of life, and you want photos and memories to share on the day. You want them to come from everyone who knew the person, not only the few who answer your texts. You also want it handled gently and privately, without a lot of tech fuss for relatives of every age.
What is hard right now
- The photos you need are on a cousin's phone, an aunt's old tablet and three different group chats, and you are chasing each person one by one.
- Some relatives are older or not tech-savvy. If they have to create an account or install something, they simply will not send anything.
- These are private family memories. You do not want them on a public page or sold to anyone, and you are not sure who else can see them.
- You are already overwhelmed with arrangements. You cannot also sort through hundreds of messages and attachments to find the photos.
Scenarios
Gathering photos before the service
You create an event, name it for your grandmother and pick an end time. Then you share the QR code or the eight-character invite in the family chat.
Relatives open the invite link in their phone browser. No account is required. Each person adds the photos they treasure most, and you no longer have to ask one by one.
It is free to start, for up to 7 guest uploaders per event. If you later host a larger event, SYNC PRO is a one-time purchase that expands the guest and photo limits for a single event, not a subscription.
Holding the photos until the right moment
You choose when the album opens to everyone. With "After the event," the gallery unlocks when the event ends, so photos from the day stay private until then.
Or choose "During" so family can see photos live as they are added. You can also add an additional delay of a set number of hours after the event ends. The choice is yours, and it means the collection comes together at the right time for your family.
Remembering the day itself with Moments
You can split the day into Moments, such as the service and the gathering afterward. Each Moment has its own QR code and reveal timing, and guests move between them without switching apps.
Afterward, you can filter the album by photographer to see one person's photos. You can also export your favorites to keep. If you are planning something similar, see our page on memorial and celebration of life photos.
Relatives who live far away
A cousin who cannot travel receives the invite link. She opens it on any modern phone browser and adds the photos she has. She does not need to create an account.
Installing the iOS or Android app is optional. It adds better camera controls and push notifications for new photos, but it is never required to take part.
